  The Vice President, H.E. Dr Mahamudu Bawumia will on the 23rd September 2020 inaugurate  the North-East Regional House of Chiefs. He will also cut sod for the construction of an office complex for the Regional House of Chiefs. It would be recalled that the president of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akudo-Addo, following a petition by the Nayiri and other chiefs and opinion leaders in the region, made a passionate appeal to the president for a Region. The request of the chiefs and people of the area was granted by the president, birthing the North-East Region sometime last year. It must be underscored that the request for a region predated the assumption of office by the Akufo-Addo administration. The sod cutting ceremony will take place right after the inauguration of the Regional House of Chiefs.  Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has fired a salvo at the flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr John Mahama on Facebook. In the Facebook post, the Vice President wrote that "God has alrea dy saved us from you" in refernce to a video in which Mr Mahama is heard urging God to rescue Ghanaians from the Akufo-Addo government. "God is not so wicked to give us another four years of Nana Akufo-Addo (President Akufo-Addo)," Mr Mahama says in the undated video which was posted by Dr Bawumia. "God you are not so wicked to give us another four years of Nana Addo. God come and save us, come and rescue us".

  Yesterday, I hosted a team led by our indefatigable national Nasara Co-ordinator, Alhaji Abdul Aziz Haruna Futa, Dr Rauf Audu of Pharmaceutical council, Salahudeen Musah, deputy national TESCON co-ordinator and Awal Mohammed, PRO at YEA, at the West Mamprusi municipal assembly hall as they addressed a workshop organized for constituency Nasara coordinators in the north east region. It was all about our numerous achievements in Zongo communities and the 2020 manifesto going forward. Neither the Presidency nor the Vice President was formally informed of the death of the Imam as has been the practice over the years. 2. Final funeral dates are usually stated when such formal announcements are made to the Presidency to facilitate attendance. 3. It follows that since the Presidency nor the Vice President was NOT informed of the death, the Vice President could not have been aware of the funeral date let alone attend same. 4. As a Muslim, the Vice President upon learning of the death and subsequent funeral performance, notwithstanding the family’s inability to inform him, did what Muslims are required by Islam to do for their fellow human beings in times of grief, by sending his donation and representatives to the family of the late Imam. 5.
