Vice President Bawumia greeted family of late Wa Imam in good faith


The facts are that:


1. Neither the Presidency nor the Vice President was formally informed of the death of the Imam as has been the practice over the years.


2. Final funeral dates are usually stated when such formal announcements are made to the Presidency to facilitate attendance.


3. It follows that since the Presidency nor the Vice President was NOT informed of the death, the Vice President could not have been aware of the funeral date let alone attend same.


4. As a Muslim, the Vice President upon learning of the death and subsequent funeral performance, notwithstanding the family’s inability to inform him, did what Muslims are required by Islam to do for their fellow human beings in times of grief, by sending his donation and representatives to the family of the late Imam.


5. Yes, a donation was made by the Vice President in good faith, and the said donation was heartily accepted by the Head of the family. We are however, surprised to learn that a few days after the visit by representatives of the Vice President, the donation, which was initially accepted, has been returned to those who sent it. 


6. It is unfortunate that such gesture by the Vice President, anchored on pure Islamic values and teachings, found its way into the media.

  On Saturday 19th Sep 2020, Zongo Youth Patriots in collaboration with Yamfo and Susuanso NPP Youth held an Aerobic exercise and House to house campaign at Yamfo Zongo in the Tano North Municipality. We were thrilled  to have Great dignitaries to grace the event such as Dr. Gideon Boako Economic Adviser and spokesperson to the Vice President, Hon. Baba Gausu Mohammed, Ahafo Regional Secretary,NPP, Mrs Emelia Konadu Member of Tano North Campaign team, Mr Theophilus Kwadwo Bonsu, Member of Tano North Campaign team, Constituency Executives and members of the Constituency  Communication team led by Otchere Kwasi Peprah. ‘NDC will build more MORTUARIES in Zongo Communities’ – Mahama

  The 2020 Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has said that he plans building more mortuaries in Zongo Communities when voted into power. According to him, this forms part of the numerous intervention programmes which the NDC plans to put in place to develop Zongos and deprived communities when he takes over the governance of this nation in 2021. In an interview on Woezor TV, John Mahama said the mortuaries will help preserve the dead in Zongo areas. He said his government plans to implement this policy through the Zongo and Deprive Communities Fund which it will will set up when voted into power.
